Primary Photochemical Processes in Solution
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1937The effect of an inert solvent on the efficiency of photodissociation processes is discussed. It is shown on theoretical considerations that under the usual experimental conditions a close analogy between reactions in solution and in the gas phase cannot be accounted for by assuming a symmetrical retardation of both the dissociation and recombination ...

Primary Photochemical Processes
1988Electromagnetic radiant energy interacts with atomic and molecular systems such that electronic and nuclear motions are affected. In all inelastic photon-molecule interactions radiant energy is converted into kinetic energy of electrons or nuclei. With such interactions the photon can be annihilated, a replica photon can be created, or it can emerge ...

Primary Photochemical Processes in Water
The Journal of Physical Chemistry, 1996The primary photochemical processes which occur in neat water after 282 nm high-intensity excitation via a two-photon mechanism were studied. Using probe pulses in UV, visible, and near-IR spectral ranges, the absorption process itself and the time evolution of the generated electrons and other photoproducts in the 0.1−80 ps scale were investigated ...

Tropospheric Photochemical and Photophysical Processes
1976Our goal in this paper is to illustrate some areas where tunable lasers—IR, UV, and vacuum UV—might play a definitive role in achieving a significantly better understanding of the complex chemical and physical transformations occurring in the natural and polluted troposphere.

Primary photochemical processes in hexafluorobiacetyl
2011Absolute photochemical quantum yields of hexafluoro-biacetyl vapour have been obtained at various exciting wavelengths between 250 and 440 nm over the range 0.5 - 400 torr. The yields are strongly dependent on pressure demonstrating that vibrational relaxation is the dominant process competing with unimolecular dissociation.

Thermal, Photophysical, and Photochemical Processes
1996A proper definition of thermal (photothermal) and non-thermal (photochemical) laser processing would require a detailed knowledge of the fundamental interactions between laser light and matter, and of the various relaxation times involved. This information is available only for a few special systems.
