Transducer Materials Mediated Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review discusses advanced transducer materials for improving deep brain stimulation (DBS) in neurological disorders. These materials respond to light, ultrasound, or magnetic fields, enabling precise, less invasive neuromodulation. Their stimulus‐responsive properties enhance neural control and adaptive therapy, paving the way for next‐generation ...

Tailoring of organic dyes with oxidoreductive compounds to obtain photocyclic radical generator systems exhibiting photocatalytic behavior

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2014
The combination of a dye which absorbs the photon, an electron acceptor and an electron donor leading to energy conversion through electron transfer, was the basis of the so called three-component systems.

Only complete rejoining of DNA strand breaks after UVC allows K562 cell proliferation and DMSO induction of erythropoiesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
DNA strand breaks are early intermediates of the repair of UVC-induced DNA damage, however, since they severely impair cellular activities, their presence should be limited in time.

Synthesis, Characterization and Docking Study of Novel Pyrimidine Derivatives as Anticancer Agents

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2020
New compounds 5 and 9 using DNA bases e.g. Adenine 1 and Guanine 6 derivatives have been synthesized. The use of simple methods to synthesize compounds 5 and 9 were done using pyrimidine as an alternative DNA base ring.

Polarization‐Driven Molecular Alignment of Azopolymer for Dual‐Encrypted and Moiré Animation‐Based Anti‐Counterfeiting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A multi‐layered anti‐counterfeiting platform is developed based on an azopolymer (PAzo) system. By leveraging the molecular orientation control of PAzo under linearly polarized light (LPL), encrypted patterns are fabricated that remain invisible under standard conditions and require polarized optical microscopy (POM) for decryption.

Thiol‐Modulation‐Induced Mesoporous Nanosheets with an Alloy/Intermetallic Heterophase for Efficient Electrochemical Ethylene Glycol‐Assisted Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐capped mesoporous PtPbBi nanosheets (S‐PtPbBi MNSs) with an alloy/intermetallic compound heterophase and inhomogeneous tensile strain (≈3%) were synthesized by a thiol modification strategy, which exhibited excellent electrocatalytic performance for ethylene glycol oxidation reaction (EGOR).

Photochemical synthesis of a “cage” compound in a microreactor: Rigorous comparison with a batch photoreactor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
An intramolecular [2 + 2] photocycloaddition is performed in a microphotoreactor (0.81 mL) built by winding FEP tubing around a commercially available Pyrex immersion well in which a medium pressure mercury lamp is inserted.

Chemo‐Mechanical Coupling in Hydrogels: Dynamics in the Diffusion‐Limited Regime

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A time‐dependent continuum model is developed to capture the transient swelling dynamics of chemo‐mechanical hydrogels. By coupling chemical reactions, solvent transport, and polymer deformation, volume phase transitions, reaction kinetics, and transient mechanical instabilities are analyzed.
