The photodegradation of pesticides was investigated on adsorbed phases: silica, kaolin, bentonite and on a standard soil. Kinetic results show that the photodegradation of phenmedipham is dependant on the nature of the support. On silica and bentonite the degradation is immediate while the photodegradation is slow on kaolin and standard soil. Also, the

Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 1975
AbstractPolymer photodegradation can be achieved by introducing carbonyl groups which absorb radiations above the 300 mμ wavelength and thus are sensitized by solar or atmospheric radiations. We introduced these groups in polyethylene by oximation of aliphatic chain with photoactivated NOCI and hydrolysis of the oxime.Modified polymers show, during ...

Photodegradable formulations of DDT
Experientia, 1976The incorporation of diphenylamine and diethylaniline in commercial DDT-WDP formulations sprayed on Phaseolus aureus and Tabernaemontana coronaria revealed that both these chemicals enhanced the initial rate of loss of DDT. Both these sensitizers exhibited no immediate adverse effect on the storage stability, pH, sieve requirement and colour of the ...

Photodegradation paths of cefotaxime
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1988The degradation kinetics of cefotaxime sodium salt in aqueous solution, under UV light at 254 nm, was investigated by HPLC and antibiotic activity. This degradation is the result of two competitive processes, an isomerization and a photolysis. This study is mostly about the isomerization step.

Photodegradation of pesticides - VII Photodegradation of carbetamide - photoproducts
Chemosphere, 1993The Photochemical degradation of the herbicide Carbetamide in different solvents has been investigated. The photoproducts were characterised by spectroscopic methods and also identified by comparison with synthetic samples. The pathway of formation of the photoproducts is described.

Photodegradationconcerns the breaking of a molecule to smaller molecules (degradation and/or mineralization) by means of the absorption of photons of suitable wavelength such as that found in the infrared radiation, visible light and ultraviolet light of the solar spectrum.

Photodegradation of Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1964The quantum efficiency of chlorpromazine hydrochloride (CLP HCI) at 253.5 m μ in aqueous media (pH 1.5) was 0.18 and 0.14 under normal and oxygen-free atmospheres, respectively. The quantum efficiency remained constant within the concentration range and periods of irradiation studied, but increased at pH values above 4.5.

Benzodiazepines are widely consumed psychiatric pharmaceuticals which are frequently detected in the environment. The environmental persistence and fate of these pharmaceuticals as well as their degradation products is of high relevance and it is, yet, scarcely elucidated.

Photodegradation of buprofezin
Toxicological & Environmental Chemistry, 1997Buprofezin, a new insecticide cum insect growth regulator, when subjected to UV ‐ photodegra‐dation in methanolic solution (1000 ppm) yielded seven photoproducts which on the basis of Chromatographic and spectroscopic evidences were characterised as (i) N‐tert‐butyl‐N'‐isopropyl thiourea, (ii) N‐ (N‐methyl carbamoyl) ‐N‐isopropyl‐N'‐tert‐butyl thiourea,

Photodegradation of carbofuran
Chemosphere, 1990Abstract Carbofuran (2,3-dihydro-2,2 dimethyl benzofuranyl-7-yl-methyl carbamate, I) when irradiated by sunlight in different solvents furnished several photoproducts. Eleven compounds have been characterized, out of which nine compounds (II to X) by GC/MS and two compounds (XI and XII) by direct comparison with authentic samples.
