Photoelectric effects of deoxyribonucleic acid

Biopolymers, 1968
AbstractStudies have been made of the d.c. semiconductive behavior of fibers and solid gels of DNA. The semiconductive behavior under high vacuum is similar in solid gels of DNA and stretched fibers of DNA measured along and across the fiber axis.

Internal conversion and the photoelectric effect

Physical Review A, 2006
It is demonstrated how data for internal-conversion coefficients may be decomposed with good accuracy into terms scaling with different powers of the atomic number. The individual terms are identified as a near-field contribution, a contribution due to photon emission and subsequent atomic photoionization, and interference.

Two-Photon Photoelectric Effect

Physical Review, 1962
The surface photoelectric current from a pure metal surface is calculated when the frequency of the incident radiation is less than the threshold frequency but greater than one-half the threshold frequency. To do this, second-order stationary perturbation theory is used. The current thus found is normally small.

Optical Properties and Photoelectric Effects

1993
In this chapter, we are concerned with fundamental optical properties and internal photo-electric effects in a semiconductor. The optical properties associated with the fundamental and free-carrier absorption processes and internal photoelectric effects such as photoconductive, photovoltaic, and photomagnetoelectric effects in a semiconductor will be ...
