Surface Modification of PET Films by Vapor-Phase Photografting Acrylic Acid and its Application to Electroless Copper Plating [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
As a simple and useful approach, vapor-phase photografting acrylic acid was used to modify the surface of PET films. Catalyst of silver nanoparticles was distributed on the photografting PET films equably after reducing by ascorbic acid.

Photochemical Synthesis and Versatile Functionalization Method of a Robust Porous Poly(ethylene glycol methacrylate-co-allyl methacrylate) Monolith Dedicated to Radiochemical Separation in a Centrifugal Microfluidic Platform

open access: yesMicromachines, 2016
The use of a centrifugal microfluidic platform is an alternative to classical chromatographic procedures for radiochemistry. An ion-exchange support with respect to the in situ light-addressable process of elaboration is specifically designed to be ...

A Semi-Closed Device for Chromosome Spreading for Cytogenetic Analysis

open access: yesMicromachines, 2014
Metaphase chromosome spreading is the most crucial step required for successful karyotyping and FISH analysis. These two techniques are routinely used in cytogenetics to assess the chromosome abnormalities.

Challenges and Perspectives on Photocatalytic Membrane Reactors for Volatile Organic Compounds Degradation and Nitrogen Oxides Treatment. [PDF]

open access: yesGlob Chall
Photocatalytic membrane reactors (PMRs) find the synergy of membranes as flexible, stable, permeable hosts to incorporate photocatalytic materials. This combination has strong potential in air purification systems, particularly the decontamination of air via reactive‐species‐induced degradation of volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides.

Simultaneous Photografting of Two Organic Groups on a Gold Surface by using Arylazo Sulfones as Single Precursors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Arylazo sulfones have been exploited as photoactivatable substrates for the simultaneous photografting of both aryl and methanesulfonyl groups on a gold surface. The obtained samples have been characterized by different spectroscopic techniques including

Effect of photografting 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate on the hemocompatibility of electrospun poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) fibroporous mats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Poly(ethylene-co-vinyl alcohol) (EVAL) has been recommended as a material suitable for blood contacting applications. Effect of ethylene content and associated hydrophobicity of EVAL on the blood-material interactions have been documented in the ...

Membrane Reactor Based on Hybrid Nanomaterials for Process Intensification of Catalytic Hydrogenation Reaction: an Example of Reduction of the Environmental Footprint of Chemical Synthesis from a Batch to a Continuous Flow Chemistry Process

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
Membrane processes represent a well matured technology for water treatment with low environmental footprints compared to other type of processes. We have now combined this technology with nanomaterials, ionic liquids (negligible vapor pressure), and poly(
