Implant Placement and Immediate Provisionalization After Alveolar Ridge Reconstruction in the Aesthetic Zone Using a Digital Workflow: A 1‐Year Prospective Case Series Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction In single‐tooth replacement in the aesthetic zone, extensive bone defects require alveolar ridge reconstruction. A digital workflow involving CBCT and intraoral optical scanning enables a three‐dimensional assessment, prosthetically driven implant positioning, computer‐assisted implant surgery, and prefabrication of a temporary ...

Effect of the Buccal Gap Width on Alveolar Process Reduction Following Immediate Implant Placement: A Retrospective CBCT Study

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the effect of the width of the buccal gap on the alveolar process reduction after immediate implant placement (IIP) at maxillary central incisor sites, compared to contralateral pristine tooth sites. Material and Methods Twenty‐eight subjects who were treated with IIP to replace a maxillary central incisor and presented ...

Residual Cement Excess of Composite Versus Glass Ionomer Cement in Implant‐Supported Single Crowns After Different Intraoral Exposure Times—A Randomized Controlled Clinical Trial

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To evaluate the frequency and quantity of residual cement after cementation of monolithic zirconia crowns with glass ionomer or resin composite cement on customized ceramic abutments, following different intraoral retention times. The influence of margin location, quadrant and implant region was also assessed.

Lactate Accelerates Early Angiogenesis and Bone Regeneration Through Macrophage M1 Polarisation

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
During the early stage of bone defect healing, lactate accumulates and contributes to increasing NOD1 expression by stabilising HIF1α that in turn triggers a calcium influx, which ultimately polarises macrophages towards the M1 phenotype and accelerates vascularisation of endothelial cells.

Retinoic Acid Signalling Regulates Zebrafish Tooth Germ Repair Following Injury

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
Retinoic acid signalling may regulate the repair processes in a tooth germ injury model using Tg(scpp5:Dendra2‐NTR) zebrafish and the nitroreductase (NTR)/metronidazole (MTZ) system. ABSTRACT Although the role of retinoic acid (RA) signalling in odontogenesis is well established, its involvement in the repair of injured tooth germs remains unclear.
