Long‐term dynamics of coastal dune landscapes and habitat diversity: Insights from a quarter century of resurveys in Castelporziano Presidential Estate

open access: yesConservation Science and Practice, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2025.
Fifty‐eight historical vegetation plots surveyed in 1998 in the coastal dune ecosystems of the Castelporziano Presidential Estate were resurveyed in 2023 and combined with land cover maps derived from satellite/aerial imagery and photointerpretation. Changes in land cover between 1998 and 2023 were assessed using chord diagrams. Landscape metrics (e.g.,

Comparing Cloud Mask Products for Seagrass Mapping Over Sentinel‐2 Imagery: Toward a First National Seagrass Map for Venezuela

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2025.
Abstract Despite providing many valuable ecosystem services, seagrasses are a threatened habitat and their global distribution is not fully known. For example, Venezuela lacks a national seagrass map. An established regional mapping approach for seagrass exists for the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform, but requires a long time window to obtain ...

Key Landscape Factors Influencing Stream Physical Habitats Across the Brazilian Neotropical Savanna

open access: yesEcohydrology, Volume 18, Issue 3, April‐May 2025.
ABSTRACT Improved management of small headwater streams in the Cerrado (Neotropical Savanna) biome in Brazil is necessary given the significant landscape transformations caused by anthropogenic activities in recent decades. Thus, we aimed to determine the relative influence of the leading natural landscape features and anthropogenic pressures on the ...
