Photoionization of the beryllium atom
Physical Review A, 1995Photoionization cross sections of the Be atom are calculated using the hyperspherical close-coupling method where a model potential is employed to approximate the screening of the 1[ital s][sup 2] closed-shell core electrons. The cross sections obtained below the Be[sup +](2[ital p]) threshold agree well with the results of other calculations and with ...

Dissociative photoionization of N2O: Analytical photoion spectroscopy
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 1989Branching ratios of ions produced from the dissociative photoionization of N2O have been measured by using a time-of-flight mass spectrometer and synchrotron radiation in the 15–36 eV region. The branching ratios in the Franck–Condon gap (15.0–16.4 eV) indicate that the autoionizing Rydberg states in this region predissociate to NO+ and O+ through ...

Photoionization and dissociative photoionization of the allyl radical, C3H5
International Journal of Mass Spectrometry, 2007The photoionization and dissociative photoionization of the allyl radical in the VUV range was investigated using synchrotron radiation. Allyl radicals were generated by flash pyrolysis from allyl iodide and 1,5-hexadiene. Mass spectra show the appearance Of C3H3+ as a fragment in the dissociative photoionization of allyl above 10 eV.

Photoionization of metal clusters
Physical Review B, 1996The photoionization cross section of metal clusters is studied using simple theoretical models. In the case of small clusters, the plasmon is well below the photoionization threshold and the photoionization is dominated by simple independent-particle processes: One electron absorbs all the energy of the photon and immediately leaves the cluster.

Photoelectron–photoion–photoion coincidence in Ar dimers
Journal of Physics B: Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics, 2004Photoelectron–photoion–photoion coincidence momentum imaging was applied to study 2p photoemission from Ar dimers. We present measurements of the kinetic energy released in fragmentation of Ar++2, angular distributions of energetic fragments, angular distributions of photoelectrons in the laboratory frame and in the molecular frame.

Rearrangement effects in photoionization
Applied Optics, 1980The recent developments and the physical backgrounds of the random phase approximation with exchange (RPAE) method are briefly discussed. The limitations of RPAE and the main features of a more general theory that would be free of RPAE difficulties are considered.

Photoionization of Free Radicals
International Journal of Radiation Applications and Instrumentation. Part C. Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 1974Since this is the first lecture at this Institute on photoionization and free radicals, permit me to take a few minutes to outline my concept of these terms.

Photoionization in molecular oxygen
International Journal of Quantum Chemistry, 2009Theoretical studies are reported of partial-channel photoionization cross sections in molecular oxygen employing the static exchange approximation and Stieltjes-Tchebycheff moment theory techniques. It is found to be particularly important in this prototypical open-shell case to specify the correct ionic parentages of the various multiplet ...

Double photoionization of methane
Physical Review A, 1985Double photoionization (DPI) of ${\mathrm{CH}}_{4}$ has been studied in the photon-energy range 35--52 eV by the photoion-photoion coincidence (PIPICO) method. Throughout this energy range the measured DPI cross section is found to be much smaller than that of the corresponding process in the isoelectronic neon atom.

Abstract Doubly charged sulphur dioxide cations (SO2++) are produced by photoionization with synchrotron radiation from ACO in the excitation-energy range 34–54 eV. A new photoion-photoion coincidence (PIPICO) experiment is described in which coincidences between photoion fragments originating from the dissociation of the doubly charged parent cation
