Photoluminescent SiC Tetrapods
Recently, significant research efforts have been made to develop complex nanostructures to provide more sophisticated control over the optical and electronic properties of nanomaterials. However, there are only a handful of semiconductors which allow control over their geometry via simple chemical processes.

Photoluminescent Properties of CdTe Nanocrystals in Colloidal Solutions and Polymer Films
Using stabilizers and promoters we have obtained colloidal CdTe nanocrystals (NCs) in aqueous solutions. Incorporation of the CdTe NCs into polymer films has been fulfilled subsequently. It is shown that the use of vinyl acetate-acrylate copolymer as the

Photoluminescence of 8H-SiC [PDF]
8H-SiC epilayers grown on small 8H-SiC Lely platelets are investigated optically using photoluminescence spectroscopy. At low temperature the near band gap emission detected in the 2.78 to 2.67 eV range contains sharp lines associated to nitrogen-bound-exciton recombination.

Defect-related photoluminescence of hexagonal boron nitride [PDF]
Photoluminescence of polycrystalline hexagonal boron nitride (hBN) was measured by means of time- and energy-resolved spectroscopy methods. The observed bands are related to DAP transitions, impurities and structural defects. The excitation of samples by high-energy photons above 5.4 eV enables a phenomenon of photostimulated luminescence (PSL), which ...
