Photoluminescent SiC Tetrapods
Recently, significant research efforts have been made to develop complex nanostructures to provide more sophisticated control over the optical and electronic properties of nanomaterials. However, there are only a handful of semiconductors which allow control over their geometry via simple chemical processes.

Ligand Assisted Control of Photoluminescence in Organometal Perovskite Nanocrystals
Organometal perovskite nanocrystals have shown remarkable properties not only in photovoltaics, but also in light-emitting devices. In this work colloidal nanocrystals of organometal perovskite CH3NH3PbBr3 (MAPBr) with effective visible photoluminescence

Photoluminescence of a Plasmonic Molecule [PDF]
Photoluminescent Au nanoparticles are appealing for biosensing and bioimaging applications because of their non-photobleaching and non-photoblinking emission. The mechanism of one-photon photoluminescence from plasmonic nanostructures is still heavily debated though.

Making Graphene Luminescent by Oxygen Plasma Treatment [PDF]
We show that strong photoluminescence (PL) can be induced in single-layer graphene using an oxygen plasma treatment. The PL is spatially uniform across the flakes and connected to elastic scattering spectra distinctly different from those of gapless ...

Evolution of Oxygen Deficiency Center on Fused Silica Surface Irradiated by Ultraviolet Laser and Posttreatment [PDF]
Evolution of oxygen deficiency centers (ODCs) on a fused silica surface irradiated using a 355 nm ultraviolet (UV) laser beam in both vacuum and atmospheric conditions was quantitatively studied using photoluminescence and X-ray photoelectron ...

Nonoxide Sol-Gel Synthesis of Terbium-Doped Silicon Nitride Phosphors
Exposure of solutions of Tb(N(SiMe3)2)3 with SiCl(NEt2)3 in tetrahydrofuran to dry ammonia results in polymeric xerogels. Heating these gels in ammonia leads to amorphous Tb:SiNx phosphors that exhibit bright green luminescence under UV irradiation.

Variable-temperature photoluminescence emission instrumentation and measurements on low yield metals [PDF]
Measurements of the photoluminescence emission spectra of 99.999 % purity gold, 99.9999 % purity copper, polycrystalline PbMo6S8 and single crystal YBCO were made for λex = 488 nm as a function of temperature (72 K < T < 300 K), time (t < 12 hours ...
