Human Atlas of Tooth Decay Progression: Identification of Cellular Mechanisms Driving the Switch from Dental Pulp Repair Toward Irreversible Pulpitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tooth decay progression transforms the dental pulp response from repair to fibrosis. At early stages, stromal cells reprogram to repair the extra cellular matrix (ECM), blood vessels, and nerves, remodel and grow, keeping repair possible. In advanced decay, hypoxia, and vessel regression, in complement with an immune switch, fuel nerve degeneration and

Nanoscopic Mapping of the Extracellular Space in Amyloid Plaque‐rich Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The extracellular space and diffusion around amyloid plaques are examined using shadow imaging and single‐particle tracking. Increased diffusivity is found near plaques, extracellular matrix alterations, and plaque core penetrability that varies with amyloid phenotype.

Osmotically Tunable Microdroplets Enable Amplification‐Free CRISPR Detection of Gene Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel amplification‐free clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats/CRISPR‐associated protein (CRISPR/Cas) 12a assay is integrated with osmotically shrinkable double emulsion droplets for the rapid and ultrasensitive detection of gene doping.

Toward All‐Carbon Electronics Buried in Diamond

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Femtosecond laser‐processing is used to create active, 3‐D electronic architectures buried within diamond, with the laser parameters controlling the electrical behavior of the written material. Ambipolar characteristics, similar to those observed with carbon nano‐tubes, are identified.

Photometric Modeling and Correction of the JiLin-1 Lunar Observations Using the Hapke Model

open access: yesIEEE Journal of Selected Topics in Applied Earth Observations and Remote Sensing
The PMS2 spectral imager onboard JiLin-1 (JL-1) satellite conducted extensive lunar observations, capturing images of the Moon across multiple spectral bands ranging from 415 to 1012 nm, spanning a wide range of lunar phases over an extended period ...

Identification and Characterization of a Novel Biallelic SLC12A2 Variant Associated With Kilquist Syndrome (OMIM #619080)

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents the case of a child with multiple congenital anomalies, severe hypotonia, and profound bilateral sensorineural hearing loss. Functional bioenergetic assessments showed no significant mitochondrial respiratory defects, and riboflavin (Rf) status evaluation excluded a deficiency in Rf transporters as a cause of hearing loss ...

One‐Pot Sequential Heck–Suzuki Synthesis of 5‐Styryl‐9‐Hydroxy‐1H‐phenalen‐1‐ones with Tunable Optoelectronic Properties

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A one‐pot Heck–Suzuki three‐component reaction gives access to a library of 5‐styryl‐substituted 9‐hydroxyphenalenones. Redox potentials, absorption, and emission data, complemented by (TD)DFT electronic‐structure calculations provide a sound basis for rational structure–property relationships for the design of these multifunctional chromophores ...
