Photometric Segmentation: Simultaneous Photometric Stereo and Masking [PDF]

open access: yes2019 International Conference on 3D Vision (3DV), 2019
This work is concerned with both the 3D-reconstruction of an object using photometric stereo, and its 2D-segmentation from the background. In contrast with previous works on photometric stereo which assume that a mask of the area of interest has been computed beforehand, we formulate 3D-reconstruction and 2D-segmentation as a joint problem.

Multiview Photometric Stereo [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence, 2008
This paper addresses the problem of obtaining complete, detailed reconstructions of textureless shiny objects. We present an algorithm which uses silhouettes of the object, as well as images obtained under changing illumination conditions. In contrast with previous photometric stereo techniques, ours is not limited to a single viewpoint but produces ...

Photometric Visual Servoing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Robotics, 2011
This paper proposes a new way to achieve robotic tasks by 2D visual servoing. Indeed, instead of using classical geometric features such as points, straight lines, pose or a homography, as is usually done, the luminance of all pixels in the image is here considered.

Photometric Determination of Phospholipase A [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 1986
A photometric method for the determination of phospholipase A is described, in which fatty acids are liberated from phosphatidylcholine and measured by a discontinuous enzymatic test. Optimal test conditions were evaluated using purified phospholipase A from human and porcine pancreas.

Amperometric and Photometric Responses of in Situ Coupled Glucose Oxidase-Poly (Propylene Imine) Dendrimer Based Glucose Biosensor

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2013
In this work, poly (propylene imine) dendrimer (PPI) was coupled to glucose oxidase enzyme (GOx) in situ and used as a bioreceptor in a glucose biosensor.

On the Data Reduction of WET Observations

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2003
It is demonstrated how the length of a continuous time-series of photometric data and their gaps affect the power spectrum of a Fourier Transform of the data.

Experience in CCD Photometry at the Tartu Observatory

open access: yesOpen Astronomy, 2003
We give overview of the CCD instrumentation and data reduction techniques used at the Tartu Observatory. The first results from photometric observations of the peculiar variable V838 Mon are presented.

Photometric Ambient Occlusion [PDF]

open access: yes2013 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition, 2013
We present a method for computing ambient occlusion (AO) for a stack of images of a scene from a fixed viewpoint. Ambient occlusion, a concept common in computer graphics, characterizes the local visibility at a point: it approximates how much light can reach that point from different directions without getting blocked by other geometry.

Comparative Study of Light Sources for Household

open access: yesManagement Systems in Production Engineering, 2017
The article describes test results that provided the ground to define and evaluate basic photometric, colorimetric and electric parameters of selected, widely available light sources, which are equivalent to a traditional incandescent 60-Watt light bulb.
