Coarse-to-fine geometric and photometric image registration

AOPC 2017: Optical Sensing and Imaging Technology and Applications, 2017
This paper presents a technique that performs coarse-to-fine image registration both in spatial and range domain. The goal of image registration is to estimate geometric and photometric parameters via minimization of an objective function in the least square sense.

Correcting Photometric Distortion of Document Images on a Smartphone

2014 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops, 2014
This paper presents efficient and robust methods for correcting photometric distortion on document images caused by moir'e pattern noise and specular highlight in smartphone. Our algorithm uses separated smoothing process for moir'e pattern removal on recaptured document image from LCD monitor.

Photometric Imaging with Distributive Solar Analogy

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1998
The multicolor light curves (UBVRI) of HU Vir have been analyzed to study starspots for epochs 1987 and 1989. The term 'photometric imaging' has been used for predicting cool surface spots by photometric data. Assuming the number of spots and the area are about the same for the two hemispheres, the distributive solar analogy is introduced as a tool to ...

Atmospheric Emissions Photometric Imaging Experiment

Science, 1984
The atmospheric emissions photometric imaging experiment was flown on Spacelab 1 to study faint natural and artificial atmospheric emission phenomena. The instrument imaged optical emission in the region 2000 to 7500 angstroms with a television system consisting of two optical channels, one wide-angle and one telephoto.

FUV‐visible photometric imaging of aurorae

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1993
Photometric images of 130.4‐, 337.1‐, 391.4‐, and 557.7‐nm auroral airglow emissions are presented for November 16, 1980, and December 9, 1981. Unique observations and new data reduction techniques allow 360° imaging of the local auroral emissions on both days and a view of spatial and temporal variability.

Simulation of images by photometric stereo modeling

Optical Engineering, 1991
A cost-effective method of synthesizing images of arbitrary complexity is described that combines high-resolution depth maps of scale model scenes with reflectivity data. A small scale model is made of a scene of interest. Regions of the model are textured according to the type of surface they will represent.

Photometric Imaging Near Infrared Spectrometer

SPIE Proceedings, 1985
A description of the design and performance of an imaging spectrometer intended for operation in the seven to fourteen micrometer wavelength range is presented. It is based upon a sixteen by sixteen element Si:Bi hybrid array, a circular variable filter wheel, and a microcomputer data acquisition system.

Photometric properties of HST restored images

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1994
Simulated and real images from Hubble Space Telescope's Wide Field Planetary Camera I were processed by several image restoriation algorithms, and stellar photometry performed on the restored images. Results were used to evaluate photometric properties of the tested algorithms.
