Saao standards for optical photometry
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1995A review is given of the development of systems of photometric standard stars at the South African Astronomical Observatory. A brief historical perspective indicates how the Harvard E-regions were chosen as standard sequences and developed into a very precise Southern hemisphere system for UBV(RI) c photometry ...

National Ignition Facility small optics laser-induced damage and photometry measurements program [PDF]
The National Ignition Facility will require upwards of 25,000 small optical components in its various beam conditioning and diagnostic packages. A quality control program designed to ensure that the elements meet the required specifications will test ...

Determination of optical constants by photometry
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1983A recent study of the accuracies of determining the optical constants of thin films, for film thicknesses up to 0.04 lambda , has been extended to include film thicknesses up to 0.25 lambda , and the results are reported. It is shown that the method may also be applied to bulk materials.

Optical photometry with the Kuiper Airborne Observatory
Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1983The properties of optical photometric data obtainable with the 0.9-meter telescope of the Kuiper Airborne Observatory are described. The major differences between airborne and ground-based data are the absence of scintillation and the increased cosmic-ray background in the airborne data and the large size and vibration of the airborne images.

Optics on a fractal surface and the photometry of the regoliths
Planetary and Space Science, 1993The light scattered by a rough surface is calculated in a model where the surface is simulated by a mathematical fractal of dimension (2 < DH < 3) and fractal density in the projected area towards the observer ρH(0 < ρH < 1). The reflectance on such a surface is calculated in the special case of a “hemispherical” fractal, in both the geometric optics ...

Photometry, Radiometry, and Measurements of Optical Losses
2019Preface: The revised 2nd edition of this practical book provides an expanded treatment and comparison of techniques used in advanced optical measurements, guiding its reader from fundamental radiometric and photometric concepts to the state-of-the-art in highly sensitive measurements of optical losses and in spectroscopic detection using coherent laser
