Saao standards for optical photometry
Astrophysics and Space Science, 1995A review is given of the development of systems of photometric standard stars at the South African Astronomical Observatory. A brief historical perspective indicates how the Harvard E-regions were chosen as standard sequences and developed into a very precise Southern hemisphere system for UBV(RI) c photometry ...

Fibre Optic Reflection Photometry on Blood
Cardiovascular Research, 1968A two photocell assembly has been used to measure the light reflection of blood conducted by fibre optics. Fibre optic reflection spectra of oxygenated and reduced blood samples show an isobestic region around 850 nm. Non-specific variations of the light reflection from a mirror do not affect the ratio of detecting and compensating photocell outputs ...

Tapered Optical Fibers for Fluorescence Lifetime Photometry
Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 2021We describe a system exploiting a multi-anode array placed in the far-field plane of a tapered optical fiber to perform fluorescence lifetime photometry with depth-resolution in brain tissue.

Absorption photometry of patterned deposits on IMPROVE PTFE filters
Journal of the Air and Waste Management AssociationThe IMPROVE program (Interagency Monitoring of PROtected Visual Environments) tracks long-term trends in the composition and optics of regional haze aerosols in the United States. The absorptance of red (633-nm) light is monitored by filter photometry of

Determination of optical constants by photometry
Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 1983A recent study of the accuracies of determining the optical constants of thin films, for film thicknesses up to 0.04 lambda , has been extended to include film thicknesses up to 0.25 lambda , and the results are reported. It is shown that the method may also be applied to bulk materials.
