Feasibility and Limitations of the Advanced Replica Process for Bioactive Glasses
Periodic 3D‐printed Kelvin‐cell templates enable a controlled advanced replica process for fabricating highly porous glass lattices. Across P45K9, 45S5, and 13–93, material‐dependent differences in coating, burnout, and shrinkage lead to distinct strut morphologies, while comparable final porosities of 83%–88% are retained.

Time-resolved fast-neutron imaging with a pulse-counting image intensifier [PDF]
A new imaging method that combines high-efficiency fast-neutron detection with sub-ns time resolution is presented. This is achieved by exploiting the high neutron detection efficiency of a thick scintillator and the fast timing capability and ...

Scintillator-based Photon Counting Detector: Is it feasible?
By utilizing finely pitched scintillator arrays where the scintillator has high atomic number and density, fast decay time, and high light output, realizing a scintillator-based Photon Counting Detector (PCD) is conceptually feasible. Fabrication of fine-pitched scintillator arrays however, has been the bottleneck for realizing such detectors ...

FastNano Liquid: An Automated Platform for Small‐Angle X‐ray Scattering‐Based Materials Discovery
We present FastNano Liquid, an automated small‐ and wide‐angle X‐ray scattering platform for the combined synthesis and characterization of (nano)materials. The platform is coupled to varied reactor workflows for both in situ studies of reaction kinetics and ex situ screening of synthesis conditions to support machine learning‐guided exploration ...

Photon counting carbon dioxide gas sensing at 2.05 mu m wavelength
We demonstrate proof-of-principle carbon dioxide (CO2) sensing at 2.05 mu m wavelength using a commercial infrared superconducting nanowire single photon detector (SNSPD).

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Cascaded systems analysis of photon counting detectors [PDF]
Purpose:Photon counting detectors (PCDs) are an emerging technology with applications in spectral and low‐dose radiographic and tomographic imaging. This paper develops an analytical model of PCD imaging performance, including the system gain, modulation transfer function (MTF), noise‐power spectrum (NPS), and detective quantum efficiency (DQE).Methods:

We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.
