Application of Raman and Photoluminescence Spectroscopy to MgO‐C Refractories
Visible to near infrared luminescence of MgO is studied on MgO‐C bricks and nominally pure MgO powder, with focus on two similar sharp high‐intensity signals, at 699 and 871 nm, each surrounded by symmetrical sidebands. The nature of these sidebands is investigated by temperature‐dependent spectroscopic measurements, confirming phonon involvement by ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Comment on "$\eta_c$ production in photon-induced interactions at the LHC"
In "$\eta_c$ production in photon-induced interactions at the LHC," \cite{Goncalves:2018yxc} Goncalves and Moreira discuss inclusive and exclusive $\eta_c$ production at $pp$ and $pA$ collisions at LHC energies.

ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Photon-photon interactions in cavity electromagnetically induced transparency [PDF]
Dissipation-free photon-photon interaction at the single photon level is studied in the context of cavity electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). For a single multilevel atom exhibiting EIT in the strong cavity-coupling regime, the anharmonicity of the atom-cavity system has an upper bound determined by single atom-photon coupling strength ...

Emergent quantum probability from full quantum dynamics and the role of energy conservation
We propose and study a toy model for the quantum measurements that yield the Born’s rule of quantum probability. In this model, the electrons interact with local photon modes and the photon modes are dissipatively coupled with local photon reservoirs. We
