Nano‐Patterned CuO Nanowire Nanogap Hydrogen Gas Sensor with Voids
Sub‐5‐ppb hydrogen (H2) detection and sub‐10‐s response and recovery times are achieved based on nano‐patterned polycrystalline CuO nanowires nanogap gas sensors with voids using electron‐beam lithography and unique annealing processes. Pre‐H2 annealing, void‐generating oxidation, and downscaled nanogap electrodes are key to improving the sensing ...

Effective photon-photon interaction in a two-dimensional "photon fluid"
We formulate an effective theory for the atom-mediated photon-photon interactions in a two-dimensional ``photon fluid'' confined in a Fabry-Perot resonator.

Ultrahigh Piezoelectricity in Truss‐Based Ferroelectric Ceramics Metamaterials
By leveraging the unique combination of polarization direction and loading state, ultrahigh piezoelectricity is achieved through careful tuning of the relative density and scaling ratio in truss‐based ferroelectric metamaterials. This approach enables the simultaneous realization of extremely high piezoelectric constants and ultralow dielectric ...

Argument structure in explaining wave-particle duality of photons in double-slit experiment
We analyze here how pre-service teachers explicate their views about the wave-particle duality of photons and what role it plays in their arguments supporting the quantum nature of light.

Proca Electrodynamics Approach to The Massive Photon [PDF]
The work presents a reflection on the importance of the existence of a massive photon. The discussion takes place based on the development of Maxwell's electrodynamics, introducing the massive term for the photon through Proca's electrodynamics.

The structure of the photon and its interactions [PDF]
The OPAL experiment at LEP has performed a variety of measurements of photon-photon and electron-photon scattering at the electron-positron collider LEP to gain a deeper insight into the structure of the photon and its interactions.

Measuring the Photon Fragmentation Function at HERA
The production of final state photons in deep inelastic scattering originates from photon radiation off leptons or quarks involved in the scattering process.

Aspherical photon and anti-photon surfaces
In this note we identify photon surfaces and anti-photon surfaces in some physically interesting spacetimes, which are not spherically symmetric. All of our examples solve physically reasonable field equations, including for some cases the vacuum Einstein equations, albeit they are not asymptotically flat.

3D Printed Ultra‐Fast Plastic Scintillators Based on Perovskite‐Photocurable Polymer Composite
The demand for radiation detection is increasing in a number of fields, including high‐energy physics, medical imaging, and homeland security. This study serves to demonstrate the potential for the fabrication of fast perovskite‐based scintillators with complex shapes via stereolithographic additive manufacturing, representing a new path toward the ...

Time-bin entangled photon holes
The general concept of entangled photon holes is based on a correlated absence of photon pairs in an otherwise constant optical background. Here we consider the specialized case when this background is confined to two well-defined time bins, which allows
