Rho production with polarized photons

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1968
Abstract The process γ + P → P + ϱ 0 → P + π + + π - has been studied with polarized photons between 2.0 and 2.5 GeV. Decay pions and recoil proton were detected with a wire plane system. We find a strong preference for ϱ 0 -decay parallel to the polarization vector, expressed by the ratiom σ ⊥ / σ | = 0.17 ± 0.07, which indicates the ...

Pion pair production in photon-photon collisions at spear [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1981
Abstract We report a measurement of the cross section for the process γγ → π + π − at invariant masses 500 MeV/ c 2 m ππ c 2 . A value for the radiative width of the f(1270) tensor meson Γ f→ γγ = 3.6 ± 0.3 ± 0.5 KeV (helicity λ = 2) has been obtained from a fit to the observed ππ mass spectrum.

Extrusion‐Based Additive Manufacturing of Advanced Ceramics: Strengthening Mechanisms and Process Optimization Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This review comprehensively evaluates extrusion‐based additive manufacturing for advanced ceramics, detailing feedstock options and key process parameters. By critically addressing defect mechanisms like porosity and cracking, the work highlights optimization strategies through machine learning and advanced postprocessing.

Hadron production near threshold in photon-photon collisions [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 1987
A dual picture between perturbative QCD and resonance production is exploited to describe non-diffractive meson pair production near threshold in 77 annihilation. Submitted to Physical Review Letters * Work supported in part by the Department of Energy, contract DE-AC03-76SF00515.

DNA‐Templated 2D Heterostructures as Phototriggered Dynamic Nanohybrids: From Releasing Molecular Loads to Controlling Enzyme Biocatalytic Function

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.

Light hidden photon production in high energy collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
The visible and dark sectors of particle physics can be connected via the kinetic mixing between the ordinary (γ) and hidden photon (γ ′ ). If the latter is light its production in high energy collisions of ordinary particles occurs via the γ − γ ...

Shaping the quantum vacuum with anisotropic temporal boundaries

open access: yesNanophotonics, 2022
Temporal metamaterials empower novel forms of wave manipulation with direct applications to quantum state transformations. In this work, we investigate vacuum amplification effects in anisotropic temporal boundaries. Our results theoretically demonstrate

Human Gut Bacteria and Lipidic Nanoparticles: Particle Composition Predicts Structural Transformation and Bacterial Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipidic nanoparticles (LNPs) were incubated with 21 gut bacteria frequently associated with the human microbiome. SAXS revealed that ∼75% of tested species induced structural transformations in monoolein LNPs, whereas phytantriol and phospholipid formulations remained unaffected.

Pre-equilibrium photons from the early stages of heavy-ion collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
We use QCD kinetic theory to compute photon production in the chemically equilibrating Quark-Gluon Plasma created in the early stages of high-energy heavy-ion collisions.
