Uncoupled photonic band gaps

Photonics and Nanostructures - Fundamentals and Applications, 2012
We theoretically investigated the symmetry properties of the modes in two-dimensional square lattice photonic crystals in order to study phenomena that would enable new frontiers in the applications of photonic crystals. Using group theory, symmetry analysis of the photonic crystals bands has been done.

Photonic Band Gaps

CLEO/Europe Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics, 1998
Photonic band gaps are ranges of frequency within which electromagnetic propagation is completely forbidden. They are present in certain materials which possess a periodicity of permittivity at the wavelength scale. Materials with these extreme properties are not known to occur naturally, and.

Slanted-pore photonic band-gap materials

Physical Review E, 2005
We present a detailed analysis of three-dimensional photonic band-gap materials consisting of lattices of slanted pores with n = 2 , 3, and 4 pores per unit cell. These slanted pores emanate from one or two masks consisting of a two-dimensional square or triangular lattice of holes placed on the top surface of the crystal.
