Non‐Continuous Iridescent Variable Structural Color Based on Metallic Surface Periodic Structures
This study presents an ink‐free laser nanofabrication technique that generates periodic arched microstructures on titanium surfaces, achieving non‐continuous iridescent dual‐color switching. The ridge and side flanks of these structures possess distinct oxide film thicknesses, enabling angle‐dependent selective reflection of specific wavelengths.

Advances in Halide Perovskites for Photon Radiation Detectors
This work highlights recent progress in perovskite‐based photon radiation detectors, covering organic–inorganic hybrid, inorganic, lead‐free double, and vacancy‐ordered halide perovskites. Their detection performance is compared, material‐specific advantages and challenges are examined, and provides insight into current limitations and future ...

Damage-free single-mode transmission of deep-UV light in hollow-core PCF
Transmission of UV light with high beam quality and pointing stability is desirable for many experiments in atomic, molecular and optical physics. In particular, laser cooling and coherent manipulation of trapped ions with transitions in the UV require ...

Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...

Soliton blue-shift in tapered photonic crystal fiber
We show that solitons undergo a strong blue shift in fibers with a dispersion landscape that varies along the direction of propagation. The experiments are based on a small-core photonic crystal fiber, tapered to have a core diameter that varies ...

Resonant Transmission Line Method for Unconventional Fibers
We provide a very general review of the resonant transmission line method for optical fiber problems. The method has been found to work seamlessly for a variety of difficult problems including elliptical and eccentric core fibers as well as “holey ...

Guided-wave Brillouin scattering in air
Here we identify a new form of optomechanical coupling in gas-filled hollow-core fibers. Stimulated forward Brillouin scattering is observed in air in the core of a photonic bandgap fiber.

Enhanced Self‐Phase Modulation in Silicon Nitride Waveguides Integrated With 2D MoS2 Films
ABSTRACT On‐chip integration of 2D materials provides a promising route toward next‐generation integrated optical devices with performance beyond existing limits. Here, significantly enhanced spectral broadening induced by self‐phase modulation (SPM) is experimentally demonstrated in silicon nitride (Si3N4) waveguides integrated with 2D monolayer ...
