Abstract A simple procedure for high yield synthesis of 9- -arabinofuranosyl triphosphate (ara-ATP) by photophosphorylation, using crude spinach chloroplasts, is reported here. Ara-AMP was synthesized from Ara-A, using cyanoethyl phosphate as phosphorylating agent, and was isolated by column chromatography.
