Synthesis and Photophysics of 5-(1-Pyrenyl)-1,2-Azoles
Two pyrene derivatives, substituted at position 1 with isoxazole or NH-pyrazole, were synthesized in 85–87% yield starting from 1-acetylpyrene and via the cyclocondensation reaction of a β-enaminone intermediate with hydroxylamine or hydrazine.

Advantages of the Surface Structuration of KBr Materials for Spectrometry and Sensors
A potassium bromide (KBr) material, which has been widely used as the key element in Fourier spectrometers and as the output window of the IR-lasers, was studied via applying carbon nanotubes in order to modify the potassium bromide surface.

Interaction of astigmatic hyperbolic sinusoidal Gaussian beams in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media
In this paper, we obtain analytical expressions for the co-propagation of two and four interacting astigmatic hyperbolic sinusoidal Gaussian beams in strongly nonlocal nonlinear media by using nonlocal nonlinear Schrödinger equation.

Cluster-based DFT modeling of Raman vibrations in tetrahedral GeS2 and GeSe2 amorphous chalcogenides
The local atomic structure of amorphous chalcogenides remains a decisive factor governing their physical behavior. However, in thin films, structural complexity and high defect concentrations make interpretation of experimental data—particularly Raman ...

Photophysics of BODIPY Dyes as Readily-Designable Photosensitisers in Light-Driven Proton Reduction
A series of boron dipyrromethene (BODIPY) dyes was tested as photosensitisers for light-driven hydrogen evolution in combination with the complex [Pd(PPh3)Cl2]2 as a source for catalytically-active Pd nanoparticles and triethylamine as a sacrificial ...

Towards Water Soluble Mitochondria-Targeting Theranostic Osmium(II) Triazole-Based Complexes
The complex [Os(btzpy)2][PF6]2 (1, btzpy = 2,6-bis(1-phenyl-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)pyridine) has been prepared and characterised. Complex 1 exhibits phosphorescence (λem = 595 nm, τ = 937 ns, φem = 9.3% in degassed acetonitrile) in contrast to its known ...

NHC-Based Iron Sensitizers for DSSCs
Nanostructured dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are promising photovoltaic devices because of their low cost and transparency. Ruthenium polypyridine complexes have long been considered as lead sensitizers for DSSCs, allowing them to reach up to 11 ...

Marine Coelenterazine is one of the most well-known chemi-/bioluminescent systems, and in which reaction the chemi-/bioluminophore (Coelenteramide) is generated and chemiexcited to singlet excited states (leading to light emission).

Cyclometalated Ir(III) complexes are of particular interest due to the wide tunability of their electronic structure via variation of their ligands. Here, a series of heteroleptic Ir-based photosensitizers with the general formula [Ir(C^N)2(N^N)]+ has ...
