Biometric Authentication via Finger Photoplethysmogram
Proceedings of the 2018 2nd International Conference on Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, 2018With the advent of information society, identity recognition technology has become more and more important. Traditional biometric-based identity authentication technologies such as fingerprint, iris, and face have been widely used in various fields of society. However, such methods have more or less problems.

Bidirectional Recurrent Auto-Encoder for Photoplethysmogram Denoising
IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics, 2019Photoplethysmography (PPG) has become ubiquitous with the development of smart watches and the mobile healthcare market. However, PPG is vulnerable to various types of noises that are ever present in uncontrolled environments, and the key to obtaining meaningful signals depends on successful denoising of PPG.

Motion Artifact Removal of Photoplethysmogram (PPG) Signal
2019 41st Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2019Photoplethysmogram (PPG) has been used with great effect for predicting human vitals such as heart rate variability or blood oxygen saturation (SpO2), etc. The quality of PPG signal is affected mainly by noise, drift and motion artifacts. Although noise and drift are relatively easy to remove, motion artifacts pose a challenge. Classical techniques for

Modeling of the photoplethysmogram during atrial fibrillation
Computers in Biology and Medicine, 2017A phenomenological model for simulating the photoplethysmogram (PPG) during atrial fibrillation (AF) is proposed. The simulated PPG is solely based on RR interval information, and, therefore, any annotated ECG database can be used to model sinus rhythm, AF, or rhythms with premature beats.

Human Sensibility Evaluation Using Photoplethysmogram (PPG)
2009 International Conference on Complex, Intelligent and Software Intensive Systems, 2009This study presents a method for human sensibility evaluation using photoplethysmogram(PPG) signal instead of electrocardiogram(ECG) or electroence-phalogram(EEG) signals. For this objective, PPG signals for two emotional states(positive/negative) are collected.

Endothelial dysfunction assessment by finger photoplethysmogram
2017 6th International Conference on Electrical Engineering and Informatics (ICEEI), 2017Cardiovascular diseases are still the number one cause of death globally. These diseases are associated with changes in the structure and function of the arteries. Endothelial cell dysfunction can cause fat accumulation in the arteries so that the arteries lose their elasticity and with increasing time can cause artery blockage or commonly called ...

Identifying coronary artery disease from photoplethysmogram
Proceedings of the 2016 ACM International Joint Conference on Pervasive and Ubiquitous Computing: Adjunct, 2016This paper presents the idea of a non invasive screening system for identifying Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) patients from fingertip Photoplethysmogram (PPG) signal. A combined feature set, related to heart rate variability (HRV) as well as shapes of PPG waveform has been defined for distinguishing CAD and non CAD subjects. Support Vector Machine (SVM)

Noncontact Blood Pressure Monitoring Technology using Facial Photoplethysmograms
2019 41st Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC), 2019We propose noncontact blood pressure estimation technology using photoplethysmograms (PPGs) extracted from camera images of only user's face and this estimation can be realized without calibration, which usually needs to be performed for each individual. Proposed technology contains the pulse wave detection method robust to lighting conditions.

Contactless recording of photoplethysmogram on a sleeping bed
2009 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2009This paper reports a novel contactless monitoring method to record reflective mode photoplethysmogram (PPG) on a sleeping bed for heart rate (HR) estimation. The electrocardiogram (ECG) and pulse transit time (PTT) were also measured in this study. ECG was measured from subjects' limbs whilst PPG was obtained from their right index fingers and their ...

Estimating blood pressure using Windkessel model on photoplethysmogram
2014 36th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2014Simple and non-invasive methods to estimate vital signs are very important for preventive healthcare. In this paper, we present a methodology to estimate Blood Pressure (BP) using Photoplethysmography (PPG). Instead of directly relating systolic and diastolic BP values with PPG features, our proposed methodology initially maps PPG features with some ...
