Effectiveness of a mobile application game (NDTx‐01) in enhancing social communication skills in adolescents with autism spectrum disorder or social communication disorder: A randomized controlled pilot trial

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, EarlyView.
Aim Adolescents diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or social communication disorder (SCD) experience social communication difficulties. Social skills training (SST) for this population has proven effective, although its use remains restricted due to limited accessibility.

Metastatic Squamous Cell Carcinoma Treated With Pembrolizumab in a Patient With Xeroderma Pigmentosum

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 5‐year‐old male with xeroderma pigmentosum from Honduras presented with a rapidly growing mass on the left post‐auricular neck, associated with left‐sided hearing loss. MRI revealed a large mass with invasion of the external auditory canal, temporal bone, and metastasis to lymph nodes. Biopsy confirmed moderately differentiated squamous cell

Juvenile Dermatomyositis Triggered by Influenza B: A Case Report on Viral‐Induced Autoimmunity

open access: yesPediatric Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A previously healthy 13‐year‐old boy developed juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM) shortly after a confirmed influenza B infection, presenting with progressive proximal muscle weakness and classic cutaneous findings. Laboratory tests revealed elevated muscle enzymes and myositis‐specific autoantibodies, supporting the diagnosis.

Photodynamic priming overcomes platinum resistance from short‐term exposure to select perfluoroalkyl substances in endometrial cancer cell lines

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
PFAS are widespread environmental contaminants that are associated with platinum resistance and mitochondrial membrane hyperpolarization in endometrial cancer cell lines. Photodynamic therapy, using BPD or ALA‐PpIX, in combination with low‐dose carboplatin overcomes PFAS‐induced platinum resistance in endometrial cancer cell lines.
