New developments in polymer photostabilization
Polymer Degradation and Stability, 1995The current status of polymer photostabilization is reviewed with respect to the progress in photostabilizing formulations, optimum molecular weight (MW) for UV stabilizers and their structural improvements, extended uses. Recent new trends in plastics for automobiles (higher temperature processing, the use of easily recyclable plastics and upgrading ...

Photostabilization of polycarbonate by ZnO coatings
Journal of Applied Polymer Science, 2004AbstractThe photostability of bisphenol‐A polycarbonate (PC) can be increased by depositing zinc oxide (ZnO) coatings onto PC films by radiofrequency (rf) magnetron sputtering using an ArO2 plasma. The photoprotective efficiency increases with the thickness of the ZnO layer and also depends on the sputtering parameters (rf power, total pressure ...

Wood Science and Technology, 2019
Flavonoids are secondary metabolites with abilities to reduce the thermal- and photoinduced degradation of polymeric materials. Previous studies indicated that the flavonoids in Acacia confusa heartwood had photostabilities that can reduce the photoinduced degradation of lignin in wood.

Photostabilization of riboflavin by incorporation into liposomes.
Journal of parenteral science and technology : a publication of the Parenteral Drug Association, 1991The influence of liposomes on the photostabilization of riboflavin in an aqueous formulation was studied under fluorescent light at various conditions. Liposomal composition, concentration, pH, and ionic strength were varied. The photostability of riboflavin was found to increase in the presence of neutral and negatively-charged liposomes but to ...

New synthesis of benzotriazole photostabilizers
Australian Journal of Chemistry, 19811-(2-Nitrophenyl)-5-aryltetrazoles and 1-aryl-5(2nitropheny1)tetrazoles are converted into 2-arylbenzotriazoles by the action of heat, the former reacting much faster than the latter. By appropriate use of methoxyl groups, useful benzotriazole ultraviolet absorbers may be synthesized conveniently by this method.

Photostabilization of polybutyleneterephthalate with carbon black
Proceedings of the Kabardino-Balkarian State UniversityThe article presents a review of the literature on known methods of photostabilization of poly- butyleneterephthalate, including carbon black. The effect of carbon black on the physical and mechanical properties and resistance of the polymer to UV radiation was studied.

How to photostabilize molsidomine tablets.
Journal of pharmaceutical sciences, 2005Different methods of photostabilization are presented for the very light sensitive molsidomine tablets. The incorporation of photostabilizers such as light absorber or pigments into the tablets considerably improved the photostability. Nevertheless, photodegradation was still detected after 12 h of intense light stress.
