Role of Plastid Protein Phosphatase TAP38 in LHCII Dephosphorylation and Thylakoid Electron Flow [PDF]
Short-term changes in illumination elicit alterations in thylakoid protein phosphorylation and reorganization of the photosynthetic machinery. Phosphorylation of LHCII, the light-harvesting complex of photosystem II, facilitates its relocation to ...

The Ability of Cyanobacterial Cells to Restore UV-B Radiation Induced Damage to Photosystem II is Influenced by Photolyase Dependent DNA Repair [PDF]
Damage of DNA and Photosystem-II are among the most significant effects of UV-B irradiation in photosynthetic organisms. Both damaged DNA and Photosystem-II can be repaired, which represent important defense mechanisms against detrimental UV-B effects ...

Electron transfer from soluble cytochromes c and c 2 to the photo‐oxidized bacteriochlorophyll dimer was studied in photosynthetic reaction center (RC) complexes and RC‐B870 complexes isolated from Rhodocyclus gelatinosus. In the RC‐B870 complex which consists of 6 polypeptides including a bound cytochrome subunit, cytochrome c from horse heart or ...

E. coli Extracellular Matrix: A Tunable Composite With Hierarchical Structure
The complex composite‐like mechanical behavior of E. coli biofilm matrix is the result of a synergic contribution of the rigid curli and swelling pEtN‐cellulose, and emerges from specific ratio and assembly conditions. The interactions between the two fibers govern biofilm hydration and characteristic wrinkling patterns, providing crucial insights for ...

A Rare Allele of ST5 From Wild Rice Enhances Salt Tolerance in Rice
A novel salt‐tolerance gene ST5W, characterized by a unique 36‐bp promoter insertion, is found exclusively in a small subset of Oryza rufipogon and is absent in cultivated rice. Field trials confirm ST5W significantly enhances rice yield across diverse genetic backgrounds under saline conditions.
