Hypericin in phototherapy

Journal of Photochemistry and Photobiology B: Biology, 1996
We describe the first local use of hypericin as photosensitizer for photodynamic therapy in a patient with recurrent malignant mesothelioma. Hypericin is a polycyclic quinone, which has been shown to possess in vivo and in vitro antiretroviral and photosensitizing activity; moreover, it is used in depressive disorders.

Enzyme‐Mediated Tumor Starvation and Phototherapy Enhance Mild‐Temperature Photothermal Therapy

Advanced Functional Materials, 2020
Compared with conventional tumor photothermal therapy (PTT), mild‐temperature PTT brings less damage to normal tissues, but also tumor thermoresistance, introduced by the overexpressed heat shock protein (HSP).

A Photoresponsive Nanozyme for Synergistic Catalytic Therapy and Dual Phototherapy.

Small, 2021
Dual phototherapy, including photodynamic therapy (PDT) and photothermal therapy (PTT), has shown a great prospect in cancer treatment. However, its therapeutic effect is restricted by the depth of light penetration in tissue and tumor hypoxia ...

Phototherapy for Itch

Dermatologic Clinics, 2020
Phototherapy is an effective treatment modality for many types of pruritus. Although the exact mechanisms by which phototherapy reduces itch vary across pruritic conditions, its effects may result from immune suppression and/or neural modulation. In this article, the authors review the efficacy of different types of phototherapy for common inflammatory

A Multifunctional Cascade Bioreactor Based on Hollow‐Structured Cu2MoS4 for Synergetic Cancer Chemo‐Dynamic Therapy/Starvation Therapy/Phototherapy/Immunotherapy with Remarkably Enhanced Efficacy

Advances in Materials, 2019
The unique tumor microenvironment (TME) facilitates cancer proliferation and metastasis, and it is hard to cure cancer completely via monotherapy. Herein, a multifunctional cascade bioreactor based on hollow mesoporous Cu2MoS4 (CMS) loaded with glucose ...
