The impact of light and gravity on growth directions in a root system of Cucumis sativus L.
While each individual root responds to such environmental factors as light or gravity the question arises how these reactions subordinate to the whole root system, which is supposed to maintain its primary functions.

Direct activation of RNA polymerase III transcription by c-Myc
The proto-oncogene product c-Myc has a direct role in both metazoan cell growth and division. RNA polymerase III (pol III) is involved in the generation of transfer RNA and 5S ribosomal RNA, and these molecules must be produced in bulk to meet the need ...

Phototropism: Bending towards Enlightenment [PDF]
Research on phototropism has had far-reaching consequences in the field of plant biology, from helping to refute the ancient misconception of plant insensitivity to the environment to the discovery of the plant hormone auxin and the identification of the phototropin photoreceptors.

Differential UVR8 Signal across the Stem Controls UV-B–Induced Inflorescence Phototropism
Unilateral UV-B exposure leads to differential UVR8 signal across Arabidopsis inflorescence stems, which is essential for UV-B–induced inflorescence phototropism.

Adaptive Genomic Divergence Across Altitudes in Capsella bursa‐pastoris
Genomic divergence was observed between high‐altitude and low‐altitude populations of Capsella bursa‐pastoris in China, consistent with an important role of ecological factors. Candidate adaptive loci associated with enhanced energy metabolism, photoprotection, and growth plasticity under altitudinal stress were identified.

Determination of phototropism by UV-B radiation [PDF]
UV-B phototropism in etiolated Arabidopsis seedlings has only been shown recently and needs further exploration. Here we elaborate on how to generate a customized setup with a unilateral UV-B light source, the required plant materials, different growth ...

Functional Analysis of MAX2 in Phototropins-Mediated Cotyledon Flattening in Arabidopsis
Phototropins (phot1 and phot2) are blue-light receptors that control cotyledon flattening and positioning under strong light; however, their functional redundancy restricts our understanding of the specific roles of phot2.
