Design and Simulation of Photovoltaic Array

Asian Journal of Electrical Sciences, 2019
This paper illustrates a simple yet accurate method of modelling photovoltaic array. By adjusting the curve at three points: open circuit, maximum power, and short circuit, the parameter of the nonlinear equation can be determined. The information about these three major points is provided by all commercial array datasheets, using this data we can ...

A Comparative Study of Mathematical Modeling of Photovoltaic Array

International Journal of Emerging Electric Power Systems, 2014
Abstract This paper provides a detailed and comprehensive study of various models of photovoltaic (PV) array which have been formulated previously in the literature, using the datasheet parameters. In this paper, comparisons of the models have been made on basis of the MPP tracking, the root mean square deviation (

Enhanced absorption in silicon nanocone arrays for photovoltaics

Nanotechnology, 2012
Silicon nanowire arrays have been shown to demonstrate light trapping properties and promising potential for next-generation photovoltaics. In this paper, we performed systematic and detailed simulation studies on the optical properties of silicon nanocone arrays as compared to nanowires arrays. Nanocone arrays were found to have significantly improved

Photovoltaic Array Reliability Optimization

IEEE Transactions on Reliability, 1982
Several statistical reliability studies have been conducted in areas of photovoltaic component design covering cell failure, interconnect fatigue, glass breakage and electrical insulation breakdown. This paper integrates the results from these studies and draws general conclusions relative to optimal reliability features for modules.

Photovoltaic array loss mechanisms

Solar Cells, 1986
Loss mechanisms which come into play when solar cell modules are mounted in arrays are identified. Losses can occur either from a reduction in the array electrical performance or with nonoptimal extraction of power from the array. Electrical performance degradation is caused by electrical mismatch, transmission losses from cell surface soiling and ...

Simulation of Photovoltaic Array Output

1992
The purpose of this paper was to show a sufficiently good fit for the measured output U-I characteristics of a PV array. The fitting method has been tested on several solar panel characteristics provided by the manufacturer for different radiation levels at standard temperature and different cell templeratures at standard radiation.
