Spin photovoltaic cell

open access: yes, 2014
Spintronics, which aims at exploiting the spin degree of freedom of carriers inside electronic devices, has a huge potential for quantum computation and dissipationless interconnects. Ideally, spin currents in spintronic devices should be powered by a spin voltage generator able to drive spins out of equilibrium and produce two spatially well-separated

Nanoparticle–polymer photovoltaic cells

Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, 2008
The need to develop and deploy large-scale, cost-effective, renewable energy is becoming increasingly important. In recent years photovoltaic (PV) cells based on nanoparticles blended with semiconducting polymers have achieved good power conversion efficiencies (PCE).

Solar Cells (Photovoltaic Cells)

2021
The sun releases a vast amount of energy into the solar system. The temperature at the surface of the sun is approximately 5800 K. At a point just outside the earth’s atmosphere the solar flux is about 1353 W/m2. Almost all renewable energy sources with exception to radiative and nuclear energy sources, have their energy from the sun.

Transparent ultraviolet photovoltaic cells

Optics Letters, 2016
Photovoltaic cells have been fabricated from p-GaN/MgO/n-ZnO structures. The photovoltaic cells are transparent to visible light and can transform ultraviolet irradiation into electrical signals. The efficiency of the photovoltaic cells is 0.025% under simulated AM 1.5 illumination conditions, while it can reach 0.46% under UV illumination.
