Design Rules for Quantitative Control of Intragrain Planar Defects in Halide Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dose‐budgeted electron microscopy reveals the design rules governing intragrain planar defects in halide perovskites: {112}t ferroelastic twins proliferate with increasing tetragonality and grain size, whereas {111}c twins and stacking faults emerge as the lattice approaches cubic symmetry.

Experimental investigation of the effects of photovoltaic panels on efficiency cooling with nanofluids using both in‐pipe flow and fin

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
Temperature increases in photovoltaic (PV) panels are one of the primary issues preventing PV systems from being used extensively. When a photovoltaic module overheats, its output power performance drops by 0.4%–0.5% for every degree Celsius above its ...

Self‐Healing Ionogel Dual‐Network Enables Synergistic Defect Passivation and Strain Relief for High‐Efficiency Robust Perovskite Photovoltaics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PSCs are afflicted by inherent defects and lattice strain that limit PCE and stability. A cross‐linked multifunctional ionogel [HA‐AA][EMIES] is developed to modulate crystallization, relieve residual strain, and passivate defects, extending carrier diffusion length to over 8 µm and delivering PCEs of 26.45% for rigid devices and 25.14% for flexible ...

Shear‐Mode Direct Piezoelectric Response of Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Periodic shear‐induced electric current measurements are reported on two archetypic ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal compounds. From the temperature, frequency and shear angle dependent results of the first and second harmonic current signals together with temperature and oscillatory rheology measurements, the effective piezoelectric coupling ...

Generative AI‐Enabled Discovery and Experimental Demonstration of Ultra‐Broadband Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Perfect Absorbers

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Researchers developed and applied a generative artificial intelligence (AI) model to optimize epsilon‐near‐zero thin film stacks for ultra‐broadband perfect absorption of light. The fabricated AI‐designed absorber, with a total thickness of only 160 nm, experimentally demonstrated an absorption bandwidth exceeding 1000 nm while maintaining greater than
