Covalent Organic Framework Colloids With Core‐Shell Donor/Acceptor Architecture and Ultralong‐Lived Charge‐Separated States

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Uniform core‐shell colloidal particles of Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs) are synthesized by a seeded growth of electron‐acceptor COF shells on electron‐donor COF cores. The resulting p‐n heterojunction enables efficient separation of photogenerated charges, which persist for minutes. These core‐shell COFs show efficient CO2 photoreduction to CO and

Competing Charge Separation Pathways Govern Charge Generation in Organic Photovoltaic Blends: Insights From Transient Electron Spin Resonance

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Transient electron spin resonance distinguishes interfacial charge‐transfer states from separated charges, revealing competing charge separation pathways in organic photovoltaic blends. The relative contributions of fast charge separation and a pathway mediated by spin‐polarized charge‐transfer states vary across different blends, with high‐efficiency ...

An X‑Shaped Chiral Non‑Fullerene n‐Type Semiconductor: Application in Perovskite Solar Cells and Chirality‑Induced Spin Selectivity

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A highly electron‑accepting derivative of cyclobisbiphenylenecarbonyl (CBBC‐TIC) is reported. CBBC‐TIC functions as an electron‐transport layer for perovskite solar cells, achieving a power conversion efficiency of 20.6%. Furthermore, the enantiomers of CBBC‐TIC exhibited spin‐selective electron transport with high enantiospecific magnetic conductance ...

Thermoradiative Diodes Using Black Phosphorus van der Waals Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate thermoradiative diodes based on black phosphorus (bP${\rm bP}$)/molybdenum disulfide (MoS2$MoS_2$) van der Waals heterojunctions which generate power by exchanging photons with a colder environment. The bandgap of black phosphorus is well positioned to exchange photons with outer space through the mid‐wave atmospheric window.

TADF‐Active Tetrazole Luminophores for Visible‐Light Functionalization of Nanoparticles and Surfaces

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A series of tetrazoles are reported that undergo 1,3‐dipolar cycloadditions with alkene and alkyne substrates, generating (dihydro)pyrazole products that exhibit thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF). The “photo‐click” reactivity of these tetrazoles is leveraged to functionalize nanoparticles and surfaces with TADF‐active chromophores ...

Process‐informed co‐optimization of liquid air energy storage and data centers under off‐design thermodynamic operation

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract The rapid growth of AI data centers (AIDCs) is intensifying stress on power systems and exposing operators to volatile electricity markets. This work develops a process‐informed co‐optimization framework that integrates liquid air energy storage (LAES) with AIDC operation. Unlike black‐box storage models, the proposed formulation captures LAES
