Improving the cooling performance of photovoltaic panels by using two passes circulation of titanium dioxide nanofluid

open access: yesCase Studies in Thermal Engineering, 2022
The major goal of this study is to achieve the cooling effect of a photovoltaic panel by employing titanium dioxide nanofluid as a cooling fluid in two passes circulation to lower the panel surface temperature, improve the performance of the photovoltaic/

Modeling and detection of hot-spot in shaded photovoltaic cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we address the problem of modeling the thermal behavior of photovoltaic (PV) cells undergoing a hotspot condition. In case of shading, PV cells may experience a dramatic temperature increase, with consequent reduction of the provided power.

Architecture‐Driven Functional Coupling in Vertically Aligned Nanocomposites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Vertically aligned nanocomposites define a growth‐engineered architecture in which vertical interfaces, strain fields, defect pathways, and phase connectivity are created simultaneously. This review shows how these architectural features couple ferroic, optical, ionic, electrochemical, and device responses, establishing design rules and open challenges

Experimental performance of water cooled building integrated photovoltaic/thermal solar collectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The idea of integrating water cooled photovoltaic/thermal collectors into building structures (BIPVT collectors) to provide electrical and heat energy is an area that has received only limited attention.

Forward‐Biased Perovskite Photodiodes for In‐Sensor Optical Change Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A forward‐biased perovskite photodiode is introduced as an in‐sensor analog preprocessing unit that uses current balancing between photocurrent and injection current to generate optical changes relative to programmable optical reference levels. The device directly converts reference‐relative optical changes into bipolar current signals, enabling sensor‐

Solar thermoelectric cooling technology applied to transport of vaccines in isolated communities [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2020
A thermoelectric cooling system supplied by photovoltaic solar energy was built and evaluated with different thermal loads. The thermoelectric cooling module consumes 70 W, it is supplied by a photovoltaic system of 90 W and 40 Ah battery.

Sacrificial‐Layer‐Assisted Heat‐Affected‐Zone Suppression in Laser Patterning of PET for High‐Performance Flexible Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A removable sacrificial polymer layer engineers the thermal boundary condition during nanosecond laser ablation of PET, suppressing heat‐affected‐zone formation without relying on costly ultrafast lasers. This strategy enables deep, high‐aspect‐ratio trenches with no detectable heat‐affected zone, templating silver‐filled mesh electrodes with record ...

Halide Composition Controls Phase Morphology and Device Specific Performance in Perovskite Photovoltaics and Light Emitting Diodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that halide composition determines phase morphology, governing distinct operating mechanisms in mixed halide perovskites. Phase segregating 75% Br compositions enhance solar cell performance, whereas intrinsically phase‐separated 95% Br compositions provide stable light emitting diodes.
