Elucidating the origin of open‐circuit voltage in ternary organic solar cells with a nonfullerene and a fullerene acceptor

open access: yesInfoMat, EarlyView.
Fullerenes tend to alloy with polymer:nonfullerene acceptor hosts, yielding composition‐dependent increases in open‐circuit voltage while recombination remains governed by the charge‐transfer state energy and is independent of the nature of the third component.

Selective Electroreduction of CO2 to Ethanol: Mechanistic Understanding and Catalyst Development

open access: yesMetalMat, EarlyView.
We aim to elucidate underlying design principles, identify critical bottlenecks, and highlight promising directions for developing scalable, efficient, and selective CO2 reduction reaction platforms toward sustainable ethanol production. ABSTRACT The electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide (CO2RR) has garnered significant attention as a promising ...

Numerical Analysis of AgInSe2‐Based Thin‐Film Solar Cells Towards High Efficiency

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
In this work, SCAPS‐1D is used to numerically explore AgInSe2‐based thin‐film solar cells. Using CuS, WSe2, and AlSb as back surface field (BSF) layers with a CdS window improves carrier separation and built‐in potential. AgInSe2's promise for high‐performance, stable, and environmentally friendly solar applications is demonstrated by the optimised CdS/

Modulating Charge Carrier Dynamics Through Tailored Hole Transport Layers in Perovskite Photovoltaics

open access: yesNano Select, EarlyView.
This study investigates alternative hole transport materials (HTMs) for n‐i‐p perovskite solar cells, comparing Spiro‐OMeTAD, PTAA, P3HT, and H101. PTAA‐based devices achieve the highest efficiency (21.01%) by suppressing non‐radiative recombination at the perovskite/HTM interface, despite slower charge transfer.

What Is a Polyolefin? A Critical Overview of Ethylene Copolymers Used as Solar Photovoltaic Module Encapsulants

open access: yesProgress in Photovoltaics: Research and Applications, EarlyView.
Polyolefin encapsulants are gaining dominance in PV modules, yet confusion persists around PO, POE, and TPO definitions. This study clarifies terminology, reviews materials, and properties and proposes a taxonomy to improve understanding, communication, and reliability in solar module manufacturing.
