Monte Carlo simulation of CdTe thin film recrystallization process during chlorine activation

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
In this work we studied the grain growth and orientation change of CdTe multi-crystallize thin films during chlorine activation. A thermodynamic energy criterion is proposed for finding non-toxic substitutes of cadmium chloride and tested by Monte-Carlo ...

Photovoltaic Effect of Atomtronics Induced by Artificial Gauge Field [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 122, 223202 (2019), 2019
We investigate photovoltaic effect of atomtronics induced by artificial gauge field in four optical potentials. Effective magnetic flux gives rise to polarization of atom occupation probability which creates current of atomtronics. The relation between atomic current and magnetic flux behaves like the current-phase property in Josephson junction.

Photovoltaic Self-Powered Gas Sensing: A Review [PDF]

open access: yesX. -L. Liu et al., "Photovoltaic Self-Powered Gas Sensing: A Review," in IEEE Sensors Journal, vol. 21, no. 5, pp. 5628-5644, 1 March, 2021, 2020
The self-powered sensing system could harness ambient energy to power the sensor without the need for external electrical energy. Recently, the concept of photovoltaic (PV) self-powered gas sensing has aroused wider attentions due to room-temperature operation, low power consumption, small size and potential applications.

Review of Kernel Learning for Intra-Hour Solar Forecasting with Infrared Sky Images and Cloud Dynamic Feature Extraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
The uncertainty of the energy generated by photovoltaic systems incurs an additional cost for a guaranteed, reliable supply of energy (i.e., energy storage). This investigation aims to decrease the additional cost by introducing probabilistic multi-task intra-hour solar forecasting (feasible in real time applications) to increase the penetration of ...

An adaptive control strategy for microgrid secondary frequency based on parameter identification

open access: yesGlobal Energy Interconnection, 2023
Complex microgrid structures and time-varying conditions, among other factors, cause problems in the mechanical modeling of microgrids, making model-based controller optimization difficult.
