Advanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.Curvature and dielectric is introduced to tune properties of surface phonon polaritons (SPhPs) in complementary nanostructures: nanowire (NW) and nanohole (NH). It is found that NH complements the frequency band range of SPhP of NW. Frequency‐band subinterval of the SPhP in NHs and NWs can be tuned by dielectric.

Advanced Science, EarlyView.This research reveals that under high‐intensity VUV light, photo‐densification reactions of PHPS exhibit multiphoton mechanism. This enables the fabrication of SiNX‐based barrier films reaching record high WVTR of 1.6 × 10−5 g m−2 day−1 at 309 mW cm−2 for 6 J cm−2.
