Could an Artificial-Intelligence agent pass an introductory physics course? [PDF]
Massive pre-trained language models have garnered attention and controversy due to their ability to generate human-like responses: attention due to their frequent indistinguishability from human-generated phraseology and narratives, and controversy due to the fact that their convincingly presented arguments and facts are frequently simply false.

Tadpole renormalization and relativistic corrections in lattice NRQCD [PDF]
We make a comparison of two tadpole renormalization schemes in the context of the quarkonium hyperfine splittings in lattice NRQCD. Improved gauge-field and NRQCD actions are analyzed using the mean-link $u_{0,L}$ in Landau gauge, and using the fourth root of the average plaquette $u_{0,P}$.

Quantum field theory and its symmetry reduction [PDF]
The relation between symmetry reduction before and after quantization of a field theory is discussed using a toy model: the axisymmetric Klein-Gordon field. We consider three possible notions of symmetry at the quantum level: invariance under the group action, and two notions derived from imposing symmetry as a system of constraints a la Dirac ...
