When Tides Run Dry: Exploring an Overlooked Coastal Disturbance and Its Climate Connections

open access: yesGlobal Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 7, July 2026.
We define and quantify negative sea‐level anomalies, termed Dry Tides, as anomalous (below the 10th percentile of historical records) and prolonged (> 5 days) water level depressions that restrict submersion of intertidal and shallow subtidal organisms, constituting a major but understudied disturbance. Dry Tides are compound events occurring worldwide.

Enhanced Human Antigen‐Specific B Cell Responses Using In Vitro 3D Tonsil Cultures Containing Stromal Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 22, 12 June 2026.
We developed a fully human 3D tonsil cell culture system incorporating supportive stromal cells that better sustains and activates immune cells than conventional methods. The model generates stronger, more targeted antibody responses to viral antigens and vaccines, providing a physiologically relevant and entirely human platform for studying immune ...

Applying Baculovirus Surface Display Technology for Influenza Cytokine Profiling, Serological Detection and Antiviral Screening

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 19, Issue 6, June 2026.
By displaying the hemagglutinin (HA) or neuraminidase (NA) proteins of influenza viruses on the surface of baculoviruses and infected insect cells, a safe and flexible pseudovirus system capable of performing cytokine analysis, serological detection and antiviral drug screening is established.

Mapping Priority Havens: Interactive Effects of Climate Change and Predator Dynamics on Sea Turtle Nesting Patterns

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 32, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Aims Understanding broad‐scale ecological responses to global change is essential for investigating and conserving biodiversity. Sea turtles, with their ancient evolutionary history and global distribution, serve as an ideal model for understanding these ecological responses.

The Rise of Offshore Urbanism and the Expanding Frontiers of Financialisation in the Global South

open access: yesTransactions of the Institute of British Geographers, Volume 51, Issue 2, June 2026.
Short Abstract Focusing on the rapid urbanisation of Sihanoukville, Cambodia, this article analyses the rise of offshore urbanism as a planning model aligned with offshore financial logics. It shows how spaces of exception and financialisation converge to plug urban territories into the grey circuits of global finance, reframing opacity, rent‐seeking ...
