Standardization of extract mixture of Chaenomeles sinensis and Phyllostachys bambusoides for anti-obesity by HPLC–UV

Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2017
JM-101 is a developed functional food formula using water extract of Chaenomeles sinensis and Phyllostachys bambusoides for anti-obesity. Standardization and quality control of herb mixture is more difficult than those of single herb. Additionally, the estimation of mixing ratio is an essential requirement for standardization.

KRAFT AND MODIFIED KRAFT PULPING OF BAMBOO (PHYLLOSTACHYS BAMBUSOIDES)

open access: yesDrewno. Prace Naukowe, Doniesienia, Komunikaty = Wood. Research Papers, Reports, Announcements, 2017
Delignification of bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoides) grown in the Eastern Black Sea region of Turkey was carried out by kraft, kraft-anthraquinone (AQ) and kraft-sodium borohydride (NaBH4) pulping under a variety of conditions to determine the effect of AQ, NaBH4 and cooking parameters on pulp and paper properties such as yield, kappa number ...

Inhibitory Effects of Phyllostachys bambusoides on Melanin Synthesis and Tyrosinase Activity in Cultured Human Melanoma Cells [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Life Science, 2014
Tyrosinase is a rate-limiting enzyme that controls the production of melanin. The effect of bamboo (Phyllostachys bambusoides) on tyrosinase activity and melanin synthesis has not been studied. We analyzed the effects of leaf and inner film fractions of bamboo extracts on the inhibition of tyrosinase activity and on melanin production.

Decomposition and nutrient release patterns of Phyllostachys bambusoides and Arundinaria racemosa, India

Journal of Forestry Research, 2012
We investigated decomposition and nutrient release patterns of leaf and sheath litter of two important highland bamboo species (viz. Phyllostachys bambusoides Sieb. (Zucc.) and Arundinaria racemosa Munro) by using a litter bag technique. Our objective was to improve understanding of the addition of organic matter and nutrients to soil from the litter ...

Estimation of culm volume for bamboo, Phyllostachys bambusoides, by two-way volume equation

Biomass and Bioenergy, 2011
We determined a two-way volume equation for estimating the apparent culm volume for Phyllostachys bambusoides Sieb. et Zucc. The culm form analysis indicated that the normal form-factors at 0.6 and 0.9 in relative height were steady at 0.736 and 0.543, respectively.
