Carbon Stock and Environmental Variations of Typical Plantations in Mufu Mountain in Hubei Province, China

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Forest ecosystems play a critical role in the global carbon cycle. As a significant terrestrial carbon sink, plantations exhibit carbon stock patterns that are shaped by tree species composition, stand structure, and environmental conditions. Here, we investigated typical plantation types in the Mufu Mountain, Hubei Province.

Molecular Mechanism of Xylogenesis in Moso Bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) Shoots during Cold Storage [PDF]

open access: yesPolymers, 2018
A bamboo shoot is the immature stem of the woody grass and a nutritious and popular vegetable in East Asia. However, it undergoes a rapid xylogenesis process right after harvest, even being stored in a cold chamber. To investigate the molecular regulation mechanisms of xylogenesis in Moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis) shoots (MBSes) during cold storage,

Climate change and crop resilience: harnessing metabolomics for predicting stress tolerance

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Summarised methodology for metabolite biomarker discovery and genomic targets selection for those metabolites to predict high‐throughput phenotypic and agronomic traits of interest for direct uptake in breeding programmes. Summary Global warming is driving climate change to levels not experienced since the advent of agriculture, primarily due to ...

Gallic Acid‐Responsive microRNAs Reprogram Lignification During Drought Acclimation Process in Spearmint

open access: yesPlant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mentha spicata L. (spearmint) is a high‐value aromatic and medicinal species, whose productivity is strongly affected by water deficit. Nevertheless, the molecular mechanisms underlying drought acclimation in this mint remain largely unexplored. Thus, here, we investigated the microRNA‐mediated regulatory processes triggered in M.

Mycorrhizal specificity of fully mycoheterotrophic Yoania in Taiwan and China and novel natural abundance stable isotope patterns

open access: yesPlant Biology, EarlyView.
Three species of the mycoheterotrophic orchid genus Yoania found in Taiwan and China are associated with a single taxonomic unit of white‐rot fungus from the genus Physisporinus and exhibit a stable isotope pattern distinct from other fully mycoheterotrophic (FMH) orchids associated with wood‐decaying fungi.

Lignans and phenylpropanoids from the liquid juice of phyllostachys edulis

open access: yesNatural Product Research, 2019
Seven lignans and eight phenylpropanoids, including one new lignan, 7S,8R,8'R-5,5′-dimethoxyariciresinol-4-O-β-D-glucopyranoside (1), were isolated from the liquid juice of Phyllostachys edulis. Their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic analyses.
