Seasonal Incidence of Striped Flea Beetle Phyllotreta striolata F. on Cruciferous Crops in North Kashmir

Indian Journal of Entomology, 2022
This study is on the seasonal incidence of Phyllotreta striolata F. during 2015 and 2016, on turnip (Brassica rapa var. rapa), radish (Raphanus sativus) and cabbage (B. oleracea var. capitata). The incidence observed at weekly intervals was correlated with weather factors.

Targets selection and field evaluation of an RNA biopesticide to control Phyllotreta striolata

Pesticide Biochemistry and Physiology
Phyllotreta striolata is a major insect pest that threatens vegetable crops worldwide. Recently, its increasing resistance to chemical pesticides underscores the urgent need for novel control strategies. This study explores the potential of RNA biopesticides for managing P. striolata infestations. Transcriptome sequencing of P.

Field evaluation of entomopathogenic nematodes for biological control of striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae)

BioControl, 2012
The striped flea beetle, Phyllotretastriolata (F.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is a key pest of crucifer vegetables in Southern China. The use of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) within an integrated pest management approach may offer an effective and environmentally safe strategy to suppress outbreaks of this pest.

[Effects of environmental factors on Phyllotreta striolata dispersion].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2006
Using marking recapture method, this paper studied the effects of host plants and climatic factors on the dispersion of Phyllotreta striolata adults. The results showed that the dispersion of the beetle was impelled by environment elements (tao = 1 ). Temperature and wind speed had significantly positive correlations with the dispersion of the beetle ...

Male Phyllotreta striolata (F.) Produce an Aggregation Pheromone: Identification of Male-specific compounds and Interaction with Host Plant Volatiles

Journal of Chemical Ecology, 2010
The chrysomelid beetle Phyllotreta striolata is an important pest of Brassicaceae in Southeast Asia and North America. Here, we identified the aggregation pheromone of a population of P. striolata from Taiwan, and host plant volatiles that interact with the pheromone. Volatiles emitted by feeding male P.

Host Preferences of the Flea Beetles Phyllotreta cruciferae and P. striolata (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) for Crucifer Seedlings

Journal of Economic Entomology, 1992
The preferences of two flea beetles, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze) and P. striolata (F.), were investigated for nine cruciferous plants and for field peas. Preference was measured by the surface area damaged and by the number of beetles observed on the plants. Choice and no-choice tests were conducted in the laboratory using seedlings at the cotyledon

[Evaluation of azadirachtin against striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (F.)].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2004
Based on the idea of life table, the concept and index of insect pests accumulated damage amount were described and the damage degree and its fluctuation were compared. Through analyzing the deterrent effect of azadirachtin on the adults of striped flea beetle (SFB), Phyllotreta striolata (F.), the results showed that the control mechanism was its ...

MAINTAINING A COLONY OF THE STRIPED FLEA BEETLE, PHYLLOTRETA STRIOLATA (COLEOPTERA: CHRYSOMELIDAE), IN THE GREENHOUSE

The Canadian Entomologist, 1976
AbstractA small colony of the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolala (F.), has been maintained in a cage in the greenhouse for more than 21/2 years. Horseradish [Armoracia rusticana (Lam) Gaertn., Mey. & Scherb.] was found to be a suitable host plant, and the caged beetle colony has followed a similar life cycle to natural populations in the ...

Efficacy of entomopathogenic nematodes (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae) against the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata

BioControl, 2010
The striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (F.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), is an economically important pest on crucifer vegetables worldwide. Twenty isolates of entomopathogenic nematodes (EPNs) (Rhabditida: Steinernematidae and Heterorhabditidae) were evaluated against soil-dwelling stages of the flea beetle in the laboratory.

Economic Injury Level of the Striped Cabbage Flea Beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), on Chinese Cabbage

open access: yesKorean Journal of Applied Entomology, 2014
This study was conducted to determine the economic injury levels and control thresholds for the striped cabbage flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), on Chinese cabbage at two different planting times. The number of inoculated adults per 10 cabbages was 0, 2, 4, 8, and 16 at the early developmental stage of the cabbage5 days ...
