Phylodynamic analysis of porcine circovirus type 2: Methodological approach and datasets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Since its first description, PCV2 has emerged as one of the most economically relevant diseases for the swine industry. Despite the introduction of vaccines effective in controlling clinical syndromes, PCV2 spread was not prevented and some potential ...

New Method of Measuring TCP Performance of IP Network using Bio-computing

open access: yes, 2012
The measurement of performance of Internet Protocol IP network can be done by Transmission Control Protocol TCP because it guarantees send data from one end of the connection actually gets to the other end and in the same order it was send, otherwise an ...

PhylomeDB: a database for genome-wide collections of gene phylogenies

open access: yesNucleic Acids Res., 2007
The complete collection of evolutionary histories of all genes in a genome, also known as phylome, constitutes a valuable source of information. The reconstruction of phylomes has been previously prevented by large demands of time and computer power, but

A Note on Encodings of Phylogenetic Networks of Bounded Level [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Driven by the need for better models that allow one to shed light into the question how life's diversity has evolved, phylogenetic networks have now joined phylogenetic trees in the center of phylogenetics research. Like phylogenetic trees, such networks

Using RAxML-NG in Practice

open access: yes, 2019
RAxML-NG is a new phylogentic inference tool that replaces the widely-used RAxML and ExaMLtree inference codes. Compared to its predecessors, RAxML-NG offers improvements in accur-acy, flexibility, speed, scalability, and user-friendliness.

DNA barcode analyses and taxonomy reveal two new species of Inocybe from Pine and Oak forests of Pakistan

open access: yesNordic Journal of Botany, Volume 2026, Issue 2, February 2026.
Here we describe two new species of Inocybe from pine forests of Pakistan; I. hazarensisand I. shimlaensis. Morphological and molecular data show that these species have not been described before and hence need to be described as new. Both species are smooth‐spored and pruinose only in the apical part of the stipe.

Understanding Bacterial Antiviral Defence Systems and Phage Receptors to Better Inform Rational Phage Cocktail Design to Treat Bacterial Canker

open access: yesMicrobial Biotechnology, Volume 18, Issue 9, September 2025.
Correlation between phage host range, antiviral defence systems, and phage receptors revealed the importance of genetic mechanisms underlying phage‐bacterial interactions in designing more effective phage cocktails capable of targeting a broader range of pathogenic strains.
