In reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government of Luxembourg suspended in-school teaching and learning towards remote teaching. A survey conducted by the Ministry of Education after three weeks of confinement, showed that more than half of the parents faced difficulties when using remote teaching with their students. To tackle this new challenge,

Chiral Bogoliubov excitations in nonlinear bosonic systems [PDF]
We present a versatile scheme for creating topological Bogoliubov excitations in weakly interacting bosonic systems. Our proposal relies on a background stationary field that consists of a Kagome vortex lattice, which breaks time-reversal symmetry and ...

Localization and adiabatic pumping in a generalized Aubry-André-Harper model
A generalization of the Aubry-André-Harper (AAH) model is developed, containing a tunable phase shift between on-site and off-diagonal modulations. A localization transition can be induced by varying just this phase, keeping all other model parameters ...

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Analysis of Vessels' Wind Forces through the Utilization of a Physical-Mathematical Model
A physical-mathematical model consisting of six elementary fluid dynamic forces and stall effects acting on a ship is proposed by the authors. They then examine specific fluid forces in the model, such as induced drag, cross flow drag and stall effects. This examination generated a new mathematical model.

Stochastic model for protein flexibility analysis
Protein flexibility is an intrinsic property and plays a fundamental role in protein functions. Computational analysis of protein flexibility is crucial to protein function prediction, macromolecular flexible docking, and rational drug design.

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?
