Aharonov-Bohm effect for excitons in a semiconductor quantum ring dressed by circularly polarized light

open access: yes, 2015
We show theoretically that the strong coupling of circularly polarized photons to an exciton in ringlike semiconductor nanostructures results in physical nonequivalence of clockwise and counterclockwise exciton rotations in the ring.

Quantum exciton-polariton networks through inverse four-wave mixing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We demonstrate the potential of quantum operation using lattices of exciton-polaritons in patterned semiconductor microcavities. By introducing an inverse four-wave mixing scheme acting on localized modes, we show that it is possible to develop ...

Modernization of the modern methodical system of physical education of students of agrarian universities [PDF]

open access: yesPedagogìka, Psihologìâ ta Mediko-bìologìčnì Problemi Fìzičnogo Vihovannâ ì Sportu, 2012
The model of the methodical system of physical education of students of agrarian universities is considered. A model is united by the aggregate of components of integral pedagogical process - from aims to end-point.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.

Optically controlled periodical chain of quantum rings

open access: yes, 2016
We demonstrated theoretically that a circularly polarized electromagnetic field substantially modifies electronic properties of a periodical chain of quantum rings.

Origin of the short-range, strong repulsive force between ionic surfactant layers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We study the electrostatic interaction between two ionic surfactant layers by performing molecular dynamic simulations of salt-free thin water films coated by surfactants (Newton black films). We find a strong exponentially decaying short-range repulsion

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Asymmetric quantum dot in a microcavity as a nonlinear optical element

open access: yes, 2012
We have investigated theoretically the interaction between individual quantum dot with broken inversion symmetry and an electromagnetic field of a single-mode quantum microcavity.
