Physical Activity and Albuminuria [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Epidemiology, 2010
Higher urinary albumin excretion predicts future cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and chronic kidney disease. Physical activity improves endothelial function so activity may reduce albuminuria. Among diabetics, physical activity decreases albuminuria. In nondiabetics, prior studies have shown no association.

Physical Activity and Cancer [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Oncology Reports, 2012
Epidemiological evidence continues to accumulate on the benefits of physical activity in relation to cancer risk, progression and mortality. Recent studies suggest that sedentary behavior may independently affect cancer risk; they also focus on factors that may explain associations with physical activity, including cancer risk factors and whether ...

Impact of a 12‐week high‐intensity interval training intervention on cardiac structure and function after COVID‐19 at 12‐month follow‐up

open access: yesExperimental Physiology
In patients previously hospitalised for COVID‐19, a 12‐week high‐intensity interval training (HIIT) intervention has previously been shown to increase left ventricular mass (LVM) immediately after the intervention.
