Nano-Zero-Valent Zinc-Modified Municipal Sludge Biochar for Phosphorus Removal
Municipal sludge biochar (MSBC) can be used to absorb phosphorus in water for waste treatment. Nano-zero-valent zinc (nZVZ) was uniformly attached to MSBC to obtain a highly efficient phosphorus-absorbing composite material, nZVZ–MSBC.

Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Nature of Versatile Chemisorption on TiC(111) and TiN(111) Surfaces
Density-functional calculations on the polar TiX(111) (X = C, N) surfaces show (i) for clean surfaces, strong Ti3d-derived surface resonances (SR's) at the Fermi level and X2p-derived SR's deep in the upper valence band and (ii) for adatoms in periods 1 ...

Adsorption of colloidal particles in the presence of external field [PDF]
We present a new class of sequential adsorption models in which the adsorbing particles reach the surface following an inclined direction (shadow models).

The release of foulers from protective marine coatings is determined by several interrelated material properties, including the strength of Young's modulus, the flexibility of chain segments, the surface free energy, and the magnitude of hydrodynamic stress.

Specific surface area of some standard cotton fiber and its relation to physical properties [PDF]
The specific surface area of 6 ICCS fibers, B-26, C-36, D-5, E-4, G-17 and I-26 was measured by means of methylene blue adsorption in liquid phase. The adsorption isotherm was hold at 25(C and during 24 hours.

An idea of designing novel sensors is proposed by creating appropriate Schottky barriers and vacancies between isomorphous Core‐CuOii/ Shell‐CuOi secondary microspheres and enhancing catalytic and spill‐over effects, and electronegativity via spontaneous biphasic separation, self‐assembly, and trace‐Ni‐doping.

The characterization of recycled concrete aggregate as filter in removal of phosphorus [PDF]
Phosphorus (P) is one of the key nutrients that lead to eutrophication problem in surface water. However, the existing conventional wastewater treatment system to remove phosphorus is expensive and require a complex process. Therefore, a system using low

In this work, a magnetic core‐shell catalyst (HOF‐on‐Fe3O4/ZIF‐67) is successfully synthesized, consisting of a metal–organic framework (ZIF‐67) with magnetic Fe3O4 as the core and a porous hydrogen‐bonded organic framework (HOF) as the shell. The catalyst efficiently activated peroxymonosulfate, resulting in rapid and effective removal of water ...
