Objective Race and household income impact outcomes in patients with rheumatic conditions; however, their role in pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)–associated vasculitis (AAV) remains poorly understood. We aimed to evaluate whether race and ethnicity and household income are associated with severe AAV disease and renal outcomes among

Characterizing the physical genome
Nature Genetics, 2002The genome of an organism is a dynamic physical entity, comprising genomic DNA bound to many different proteins and organized into chromosomes. A thorough characterization of the physical genome is relevant to our understanding of processes such as the regulation of gene expression, DNA replication and repair, recombination, chromosome segregation ...

CHARACTERIZATION OF THE PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF FIREFIGHTING.
Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, 1980To characterize the physical demands associated with on-the-job use of current firefighting equipment and the performance of essential firefighting operations, an initial task analysis of all firefighting operations was followed by an in-depth physical and physiological characterization of those tasks deemed to be physically demanding.

Physical Characterization of the Hydrates of Urapidil
Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1988Three hydrates of urapidil were prepared and characterized by means of differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, intrinsic dissolution rates, and solution calorimetry. The stoichiometry of the urapidil hydrates was found to be 1:5, 1:3, and 1:1 (urapidil:water).

Physical characterization of the plasmid pON5300
Molecular and General Genetics MGG, 1981The antibiotic resistance plasmid R1drd19Km- which has spontaneously lost its kanamycin resistance marker, and its derivative pON5300, were analysed using the restriction endonucleases SalI, BamHI, HindIII and EcoRI. The fragment patterns were compared with that of the R1drd19 and the fragments responsible for kanamycin resistance were found to be ...

A physical characterization of sulfane sulfurtransferase
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure and Molecular Enzymology, 1990The bacterial enzyme sulfane sulfurtransferase has been studied using spectroscopic techniques. The enzyme was characterized in terms of its near-UV absorption spectrum, molar ellipticity, intrinsic fluorescence spectra and the effects of general and ionic quenching reagents upon its fluorescence.

On characterizing the physical
Philosophical Studies, 2006In previous work (Wilson forthcoming), I have endorsed an account of the physical according to which an entity is physical just in case it is (approximately accurately) treated by current or future (in the limit of inquiry, ideal) physics, and is not fundamentally mental.
