Controlled Aggregation of Pyrene‐Based Supramolecular Nanostructures for Light‐Driven Switchable H2 or H2O2 Production

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports the self‐assembly of a pyrene derivative into two distinct nanostructures and their application in visible‐light photocatalysis. The two nanostructures exhibit completely different yet complementary photocatalytic activities, promoting either H2 or H2O2 evolution.

Z‐Scheme Water Splitting Systems Based on Solid‐State Electron Conductors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review examines the latest advances in Z‐scheme overall water splitting (OWS) systems for solar hydrogen production. These systems consist of suspended or immobilized hydrogen evolution photocatalysts (HEPs) and oxygen evolution photocatalysts (OEPs).

Physical Exertion and Mental Performance

Ergonomics, 1973
The problem of why people in a state of fatigue make wrong decisions prompted a series of laboratory experiments of which two are described. Subjects pedalled a bicycle ergometer for varying periods of time and were tested for mental performance after different amounts of physical exertion.

The physiology of extreme physical exertion

Endeavour, 1987
Abstract Regular physical activity can make an important contribution to maintaining a healthy body. However, insufficient knowledge of the biological laws underlying the training process may easily lead to excessive strain and injuries. Extremely strenuous activities, such as marathons and triathlons, require proper training and preparation ...

Perceived Exertion of Physical Activity During Pregnancy

Journal of Physical Activity and Health, 2015
Background:Maternal physical activity declines across gestation, possibly due to changing perception of physical activity intensity. Our purpose was to a) determine whether rating of perceived exertion (RPE) during a treadmill exercise changes at a given energy expenditure, and b) identify the influence of prepregnancy physical activity behavior on ...

Return to Physical Activity After Exertional Rhabdomyolysis

Current Sports Medicine Reports, 2008
Exertional rhabdomyolysis (ER) is a condition characterized by muscle pain, swelling, and weakness following some exertional stress, with or without concomitant heat stress. Athletes who experience ER often present to the emergency department, the training room, or the physician's office seeking guidance and care for this condition, often feeling it is
