Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Three-Dimensional Reconstruction and Deformation Identification of Slope Models Based on Structured Light Method

open access: yesSensors
In this study, we propose a meticulous method for the three-dimensional modeling of slope models using structured light, a swift and cost-effective technique. Our approach aims to enhance the understanding of slope behavior during landslides by capturing

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Three-Dimensional Physical Model Test Study on Mining-Induced Strata Movement of Open-Pit Final Slope

open access: yes, 2017
Strata and surface movement induced by mining under open-pit final slope is a huge threat to mine safety. Physical model test is an important method to study mining-induced strata and surface movement laws.

Z PHYSICS AND TESTS OF THE STANDARD MODEL.

open access: yes, 1989
Fundamental aspects of Z physics are reviewed with an emphasis on e/sup +/e/sup /minus// annihilation. The effects of radiative corrections, both from ordinary QED and from the electroweak interactions are considered from an elementary point of view, but in some detail. The possibility of mixing with an extra Z boson is discussed.

Versatile vector tools for efficient protein screening across multiple expression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A unified vector toolkit enables rapid protein expression screening across E. coli, insect, and mammalian cells. A single primer pair amplifies the target gene, which is inserted into any vector via a standardized interface. This streamlined workflow eliminates repeated cloning steps, accelerating the identification of optimal expression conditions for

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.
